A domestic violence suspect in Palo Cedro was taken into custody the hard way. Late Friday night Shasta County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a home on Deschutes Road south of Junction School. Deputies were told that 33-year-old Zachary Stevenson had assaulted his girlfriend while she was holding their infant child, and also assaulted a 16-year-old. He was still on the property, concealed under a blanket inside his car with the doors locked. When he refused to come out or to show his hands, Duke the K9 joined him in the car. After being treated at a hospital for his dog bites, Stevenson was booked into jail. He’s being held on $50,000 bail.
