A K9 helped apprehend a man in Red Bluff Monday afternoon. A little after 5 O’clock officers patrolling on Main Street saw a man on a bicycle who they recognized from previous contacts as 37-year-old Corey Janic. He has a long criminal record and is on Post Release Supervision, so the officers tried to contact him. He ignored them so they turned on their lights and siren, but he just looked back, yelled something and kept pedaling. He rode behind the Tractor Supply and into field where the patrol car could not proceed. Officers continued on foot along with Max the K9 and yelled to him that the dog would come after him. Janic rode about 75 yards through the field and raised a hand like he was giving up so Max was called back. Janic then bicycled away back onto South Main Street and into the Flying A Trailer Park, taking refuge in one of the trailers. Officers found the door was unlocked but barricaded from within. The door was pushed open and Max went inside and clamped his jaws onto Janic, after which he was taken into custody.
