K9 Sniffs Out Over 13 Pounds Of Cocaine During Traffic Stop On I-5

Another very large drug bust has been made on Interstate 5, according to the Shasta Interagency Narcotics Task Force. At 10:30AM Friday morning a CHP Officer in the Mountain Gate area stopped a northbound car occupied by two people from Richmond. The driver was 31-year-old Jose Luna-Deras and 42-year-old Nancy Carrasco was the passenger. The officer had his K9 take a sniff, leading to a search of the car and the alleged discovery of 13.6 Pounds of Cocaine. Luna-Deras and Carrasco were both booked into jail, each on a Million Dollars bail.
