Kayaker Suffers Serious Injuries After Being Pulled From The Sacramento River

An Oregon man is in critical condition after a disastrous kayaking mishap on the Sacramento River Wednesday. At around 11AM Sheriff’s Boating Deputies, Redding Police, Redding Fire and the CHP were all called to assist in a rescue. Other recreational boaters were trying to help as a kayak was pinned against the upriver side of a pillar beneath the Highway 44 Bridge. A 63-year-old man was pulled from the water and transported to intensive care at Mercy Medical Center.
