Flight Nurse Suzie Smith, who was in the air ambulance that crashed in Sacramento last week, succumbed to her injuries on Saturday. On Sunday her body was flown from Sacramento to Red Bluff, then taken by ambulance to a mortuary in Palo Cedro. Large crowds of first responders and community members greeted the procession all along the way. The REACH Air Ambulance was on it’s way back to Redding after dropping off a patient at UC Davis when it crashed on Highway 50 in Sacramento. Pilot Chad Milward, and Paramedic Margaret Davis are still in critical but stable condition.
