Live Security System Helps Deputies Nab Two Suspected Burglars

A Jones Valley man called 9-1-1 at 2 O’clock Friday morning and said he was watching two suspected burglars on his home video surveillance system. The Bear Mountain Road resident said the two men were in his shop trying to steal his car. Deputies arrived and found a car that didn’t belong there in front of the shop, where a side door had been forced open. When a warning was made that a K9 was going in, a man came out and surrendered. The sheriff’s office says he identified himself as 49-year-old Keith Cortright but when he was fingerprinted at the jail he turned out to be 47-year-old Jason Cortright. He’s being held without bail. The other suspect had run away but deputies somehow identified him as 28-year-old Austin King. He was arrested about 9 hours later in Shasta Lake City and is in jail on $50,000 bail.
