A lot of ideas were brought before the Shasta County Board of Supervisors Tuesday concerning how to spend a fortune in Opioid litigation settlement money from pharmaceutical manufacturers. There’s a long list of things on which the money can legally be spent and some specific things that are disallowed. Presentations were made by 19 different government agencies, non-profit organizations, private companies and coalitions. The county has already gotten $10.5 Million and is projected to get a total of $38.9 Million in installments over the next 15 years. The board will continue to deliberate how to spend the money.
