Anderson Police made a theft-related arrest Saturday that qualifies as a felony under the newly-enacted Proposition 36. Saturday night an employee of an Anderson business reported that 43-year-old Jesse Munger had stolen some items which he was trying to sell. He told police that Munger’s motorhome was heading north on Highway 273 with a pop-out section partly slid out. Officers pulled the RV over and reported seeing some of the stolen property. Police say a search revealed more than $2,000 worth of stolen goods. Munger apparently has two prior theft convictions, significantly changing the nature of the crime.
