The entire community is feeling the devastating loss experienced by two local families after a tragic accident on Thursday. Redding Police Corporal Brian Moore and his family were enjoying the outdoors at a campground next to the Sacramento River below Shasta Dam when his son Ryker and another boy, Jonathan Jorgensen, were caught in a rockslide and suffered fatal injuries. The Moore family is moved by the outpouring of sympathy, and they also appreciate being given the privacy to grieve and heal. The Peace Officers Research Association of California is collecting donations for the family at porac.org. The goal of $25,000 has already more than doubled.
