Local Schools Join Nationwide Campaign To Promote Importance Of Afterschool Programs

The Shasta County Office of Education’s Project Share is promoting the importance of after school programs with their 24th annual Lights on Afterschool celebration, in collaboration with Enterprise, Redding and Gateway School Districts. It’s part of a nationwide campaign to encourage keeping the lights on and the doors open after school hours for homework assistance, mentoring, tutoring, sports, recreation, community service projects, and other activities that keep kids safe and inspire them to learn. Project Share Afterschool sites have special activities planned and a walk for awareness will take place at the Sundial Bridge Thursday evening at 6:30PM. More details are at shastacoe.org.
