Local Youth Begin Selling Tickets For October’s Sundial Riffle Raffle

Here comes “Sammy Salmon”. Over the last 32 years, Redding East Rotary has raised over $5 Million through the Sundial Riffle Raffle and the fundraiser it replaced, the Ducky Derby. All the funds benefit local youth programs and substance abuse prevention. Nearly all the tickets are sold by young people, and the organizations they represent keep 100% of the proceeds. That funding structure has not changed, though the event itself has changed. The Riffle Raffle will culminate with a festival at the Sundial Bridge on October 22nd, when “Sammy Salmon” will choose the winning tickets. Prizes include $10,000 cash, a Holiday Harbor 16-sleeper houseboat vacation, a San Francisco Giants VIP outing for 4 next season from Interwest Insurance, and a 6-person river rafting trip. More information, including how to buy tickets or how to participate as a school or youth group, is at sundialriffleraffle.com.
