A Burney man accused of attacking his mother with a hammer has been found incompetent to stand trial. 28-year-old Victor Kersten was arrested on September 4th and two weeks later his defense raised doubts about his sanity. The court ordered mental evaluations by two doctors and they were returned last week. Kersten will be given treatment and if competency is restored the court process will resume.
