Man Accused Of Killing His Mother Pleads Not Guilty

A Bay Area man accused of killing his mother in Shasta County will be evaluated for mental competency. 51-year-old Yose Elizabeth Barron-Alcazar was stabbed to death the morning of May 24th in her home on Lynda Lynn Way off Union School Road. The 9-1-1 call had been made by her son, 21-year-old Jacob Jesse Mandujano of Redwood City. He was outside when deputies arrived, and he was detained as other deputies went inside and found his mother dead. Mandujano was interviewed by Major Crimes Detectives and then booked into jail on a Million Dollars bail. Mandujano was arraigned Thursday and entered not guilty pleas. His attorney requested that he be mentally evaluated before further proceedings. A court appointed doctor is set to report to the court on July 12th.
