A Cohasset man has pleaded not guilty in Butte County Superior Court to charges of looting during the Park Fire. 44-year-old Joshua Emerson was charged with two counts of looting a vehicle and tools from a neighbors shop while he was evacuated. His co-defendant 41-year-old Rose Sutton will appear in court next month on charges of concealing the property taken by Emerson. According to Butte County DA Mike Ramsey an evacuated resident was escorted to his property on July 20th to check on his belongings. That’s when he discovered his Jeep, and several tools were missing. The Jeep was recovered on July 30th in front of a residence on Jasper Drive. A search warrant was served on the residence on August 1st and Jasper and Sutton were arrested for looting, and for drugs.
