A man was chased down by deputies after shooting at a car in Junction City, according to the Trinity County Sheriff’s Office. Wednesday afternoon a Junction City caller reported that 30-year-old Roman Woods-Ponce had driven onto his property in a Honda Accord, shot at an unoccupied vehicle, then drove away. Deputies spotted the car eastbound on Highway 299 and tried to pull it over. The driver stopped twice but refused to get out. The second time he stopped, deputies and CHP Officers tried to box the car in but he drove around them. The chase ended when the car crashed at 299 and Court Street in Weaverville. Wood-Ponce was taken into custody and a gun with ammo was reportedly found in the car.
