A Redding man was arrested after a standoff with the SWAT Team on Sunday afternoon. At 3:15PM Shasta County Sheriffs Deputies were called to an residence on the 8000 block of Shoreline Drive in Redding by an elderly woman who reported being assaulted by her grandson 24-year-old Joshua Holm. The woman had left the residence and called 911 from a neighbors home. Deputies say that Holm armed himself with a knife and barricaded himself inside the home while he made threats to kill deputies. The Crisis Intervention Team was called to try and diffuse the situation, but eventually the SWAT Team arrived and Holmes came out of the home. Deputies deployed a K9 after Holm’s reportedly failed to comply with commands. He was taken into custody and booked into the Shasta County Jail on a number of charges including elder abuse and assault with great bodily injury.
