A local employer has been arraigned on charges of sexually assaulting an underage employee. Last August Redding Police Detectives arrested 53-year-old Jesus Ramos-Maldonado after the girl, whose age is not available, eventually quit after two months of allegedly being sexually assaulted while she was working. After his arrest, Ramos-Maldonado reportedly admitted to detectives that the allegations were true and that he knew the girl’s age as well. Police and prosecutors have not named the business, but it’s apparently a West Redding Mexican restaurant. Following an investigation, charges were filed against Ramos-Maldonado on April 17th and he was arraigned Monday on four felony counts of lewd acts upon a child, one count of felony sexual battery by restraint, as well as five misdemeanors for false imprisonment and child molesting. He’s in jail on $250,000 bail and will return to court May 15th.
