A Shasta Lake Man could get a very long sentence in a Tehama County court due to his prior convictions. Last February 59-year-old John Patrick Alander was arrested in Red Bluff and charged with one felony count of making a criminal threat to commit great bodily injury, as well as misdemeanor obstructing police. His jury trial ended December 27th with guilty verdicts, and the jury also acknowledged two prior violent felonies that counted as strikes under the three strikes statute. When he’s sentenced in March Alander could be given up to 35-years-to-life in prison.
