Man Faces 7 Years In Prison For Racially Motivated Attack In Anderson

A 47-year-old man has made a plea deal for a racially-motivated hate crime committed in Anderson against an elderly black man. The incident happened last November in front of Anderson Middle School. Jerry Allen Wilson Jr. assaulted the 70-year-old victim right after a vehicle versus pedestrian collision. Wilson punched the man repeatedly while yelling racial slurs at him. Last week Wilson pled guilty to assault by means of force likely to produce great bodily injury with multiple enhancements. He’ll be sentenced September 10th to 7 years in state prison.
