Someone was found dead on the Hornbeck Trail off Quartz Hill Road Friday afternoon. The trail is an extension of the Shasta-Chappie Off Highway Recreation Area and is popular with mountain bikers. The deceased man’s injuries may have resulted from a bicycle crash. The woman who found him tried to revive him with CPR, but it took a long time for emergency responders to reach the remote area.
