Man Found Pouring Gas Into Stolen Pickup Sentenced To 16 Months In Prison

A man who stole a truck in Red Bluff should find another line of work, because he’s clearly not very good at it. 40-year-old Michael Anthony Rodgers was arrested in June after a CHP Officer saw him on the side of the road with a gas can, pouring gas into a pickup that had recently been sloppily spray painted. He said he had bought the truck two days prior, but the license plate was from a different vehicle. A check of the VIN number showed it had been stolen from Wheeler Logging, which had video surveillance showing Rodgers stealing the truck. Rodgers was on Post Release Supervision and a search of his trailer turned up ammunition. He’s been given a 16 month prison sentence.
