A man in a motorized wheelchair was struck by an SUV in Red Bluff Tuesday night and suffered fatal injuries. It happened just before 7 O’clock on the Antelope Boulevard Bridge over the Sacramento River. Red Bluff Police say the unidentified 64-year-old man in the wheelchair was traveling westbound against traffic in the eastbound lane when the Ford SUV struck him. Despite lifesaving efforts by rescue personnel and EMTs, the man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The 41-year-old man driving the Ford was uninjured, and police say they saw no indication that he was impaired. Witnesses are urged to call 527-3131.
