Man Pleads Guilty To 2005 Killing In Siskiyou County

A 77-year-old man has pleaded guilty to a 20-year-old murder in Siskiyou County. In July of 2005 rafters found the body of 56-year-old Patty Joseph in the Klamath River near the Ash Creek Bridge along Highway 96. She had been reported missing from her Fort Jones home 3 days earlier. An autopsy showed patty had been murdered by blunt force trauma and asphyxia. In 2021 advances in forensic science allowed detectives to connect Phillip Gregory Frase to the killing. He was charges in 2023 and on Tuesday Frase entered a guilty plea to voluntary manslaughter. He’ll be sentenced on July 29th.
