A resident of the Siskiyou County Town of Weed is being called a hero for saving a woman who was being stabbed Monday night. The story has been told on a GoFundMe page set up by the cousin of 33-year-old Kyle Sturman, who reportedly found his roommate, Aaron Rafuse, in their kitchen stabbing their elderly neighbor. She had already been stabbed 16 times when Sturman picked up Rafuse and threw him outside. During the struggle, Rafuse apparently stabbed Sturman in the back and pierced his kidney. He came back in through a window and Sturman threw him out again. Rafuse then ran away and was captured later by police. Meanwhile, Sturman and the woman were taken to Mercy Mount Shasta before Sturman was transferred to Mercy Hospital in Redding for surgery. His family has moved him to their home in Redding, and the GoFundMe page has been set up to help with medical bills
