A man has been sentenced for a chase in which he rammed a police car with a pickup truck. In August of last year, Redding Police tried to stop a Chevy Silverado with no license plate driven by 47-year-old Thomas Eugene Henderson, but he sped away at high speed on Keswick Dam Road. He turned onto Prosperity Lane and hit a power pole guideline, then sped down a dirt road and ran into a tree before putting the truck in reverse and ramming the police car. He sped away again and hit another tree. He and his female passenger ran away on foot. The DA’s office says that the previous July, Henderson led the same police officer on a chase on Keswick Dam Road that ended in the same spot as the second chase. Both pursuits were tried at the same time but the jury was hung on the charges from the second chase. Last week Henderson was sentenced to almost 7 years in prison.
