A man who was shot during a deadly incident in Gerber has been sentenced for his role in the shootout. A half hour after midnight May 31st Tehama County Sheriff’s Deputies were sent to a home on Ventura Avenue in Gerber. Three men had arrived earlier in the evening and had been smoking methamphetamine with the homeowner, according to the Sheriff’s Office. For some reason, someone started shooting. During the lengthy exchange of gunfire one man was killed and the homeowner was wounded. Two of the suspects fled, including 21-year-old Osbaldo Rodriguez. He had been hit with several bullets himself, and as he ran out he fired shots back into the home, injuring the homeowner. A short time later Rodriguez was at Red Bluff River Park, claiming he had been shot by a stranger at the park. He’s been given a 3 year prison sentence
