Man Sentenced To 20 Years In Prison For Halloween Night Crime Spree

A Redding man who was a teenager when he went on a Halloween night armed crime spree last year has been sentenced to 18 years in state prison. 20-year-old Christopher James Aldridge Jr was on probation for a January 2022 felony assault when he committed his crimes. At 8:40PM last October 31st, Aldridge and an accomplice approached two teens, a girl and a boy, at the Sundial Bridge parking lot. Aldridge pulled a handgun from his waistband and pointed it at them, demanding the boy’s shoes, wallet and other items, and also took a vaping device from the girl. He handed all the items to his companion and they fled in a black sedan. 25 minutes later Aldridge was at Heather Lane off Foxtail Court in East Redding pointing a gun at Crystal Choate and Jacob Gingerich, who were tending to their 5-week-old baby in the backseat of their car. Aldridge threatened to kill the family, but after they pleaded with him for several minutes he fled. The victims all identified him from a photo lineup. Aldridge pled guilty in August to robbery, criminal threats with a gun and false imprisonment by violence.
