A Corning man has been sentenced for leading officers on a dangerous chase that covered a lot of road. Last October 9th Corning Police Officers were patrolling near McKinley and Lincoln Avenues when they saw a car with expired registration and tried to stop it. The driver fled at more than 80 miles an hour on a pursuit through city streets and county roads that continued for 35 miles. During the chase officers learned that the car had been reported stolen. After the pursuit passed into Glenn County and went recklessly through a construction zone, a spike strip was used to flatten the tires and 33-year-old Cesar Oswaldo Macedo was taken into custody. Officers say two baggies containing Methamphetamine were found in the car. Macedo has been sentenced to 3 years in state prison.
