A 28-year-old Shasta Lake City man has been sentenced for the murder of his fiancee. In April of 2022 Elijah Potillor and 30-year-old Jasmyne Glasper were at their home off Shasta Dam Boulevard. The couple was arguing while packing their belongings for a move, as Jasmyne’s son and Elijah’s mother waited outside. Jasmyne was trying to walk outside when Elijah stabbed her in the back multiple times with a kitchen knife. Last month Elijah Potillor entered a guilty plea to second degree murder and admitted to being on parole from a prior strike, a robbery committed in 2013. At Thursday’s hearing some of Jasmyne’s family members made powerful emotional statements about the pain they feel from the loss of their loved one. Potillor was sentenced to 30 years to life in state prison.
