Man Sentenced To Probation For Cannabis DUI Crash

A man has been convicted and sentenced for crashing his car while smoking pot. Dillon Andrew Wood had a solo collision in the Centerville area. As he was transported to a hospital for medical clearance, CHP Officers found a still-smoldering cannabis pipe on the floorboard of the car. A CHP Officer at the hospital said Wood appeared to be stoned and a blood test revealed the presence of the cannabis property THC, though the time frame of use is uncertain from blood tests. Last Wednesday a jury found Wood guilty of driving under the influence of marijuana with an enhancement for having a prior DUI within 10 years. He was sentenced to 5 years probation, 45 days in jail and an 18-month DUI school.
