Man Swept Away By Swift Flows Rescued From The Trinity River On Sunday

After a couple of horribly tragic incidents in Northstate rivers, a scary situation that ended well is welcome news. On Sunday a woman called 9-1-1 from the North Fork Trinity River near Coffee Creek to report her husband was missing. She said the 57-year-old man had been swept away by the swift water and she couldn’t find him. The current had carried him about a mile and a half downstream, where he became stranded on an island. Rescue personnel shot a line to the island, which the man secured to a tree. Rescue swimmers used the line to guide an inflatable kayak and return the cold but uninjured man safely to his family.
