A Tehama County man is going to prison for assaulting a Sheriff’s Department K9. In June, deputies were investigating a vandalism incident in the City of Tehama and identified Daniel Dean as a suspect. He also had a no bail felony warrant from Los Angeles. When deputies tried to detain him he became combative and ran, barricading himself in the crawlspace underneath a nearby occupied house. Blaze the K9 went after him and was punched repeatedly in the head. Dean has been sentenced to 2 years in state prison.
