Man Who Threatened Good Samaritan With A Razor Blade Sentenced To 11 Years In Prison

A man has been sentenced to prison for threatening a Good Samaritan. On June 30th the victim was on the Sacramento River Trail in Redding near the Diestelhorst Bridge when he came across Phillip Ault. Thinking Ault appeared to be in distress from the heat, he tried to cool him down. Ault responded by wielding a razor blade and threatening the man’s life. Ault pleaded no contest to criminal threats, and he also has a prior strike for assault with a deadly weapon. Last Thursday he was sentenced to 11 years in state prison.
