A Red Bluff man has been sentenced for driving while extremely intoxicated with his child in the car. 36-year-old Philip Soukouang was arrested in October after leaving the Red Bluff Harbor Freight. Staff had called police because Soukouang was so drunk he had to let his young son help him pay. Officers stopped Soukouang and gave him field sobriety tests, which he performed very poorly. A breathalyzer showed him to have a blood alcohol level of .34%, which more that four times the legal limit. He was charged with felony child abuse and has been sentenced to 210 days in Tehama County Jail and 4 years probation, as well as all the DUI related penalties.
