May Unemployment Rate Remains At 4.6% In Shasta County

Shasta County’s unemployment rate for May was the same as it was in May of last year at 4.6%. That’s one percent lower than the rate in April. Leisure and hospitality jobs were slightly reduced last month, as well as manufacturing, but most sectors improved, including logging and construction, private education and health services and business services. There was also a boost in government jobs. The jobless rate in Tehama County was 5.3%. It was 4.9% in Trinity County and 5.5% in Siskiyou County. The rate was 4.5% for California and 3.7% nationally.
