A memorial service with military honors will be held for former talk show host Pete Peters on Friday at the Northern California Veterans Cemetery in Igo. Peters hosted Saturday mornings “Freedom in Action” on KQMS for thirteen years before passing away in February. A Vietnam veteran, he belonged to several veterans groups. He was also a well known attorney locally, a past member of the county board of supervisors, a member of the fair board, the militia, and the Redding Rodeo Association. He attended the Spiritual Living Church in Redding, and is survived by his wife Patti, four daughters, eight grandchildren, two sisters, many friends and his constant K9 companions Romeo and Gizmo. “Freedom in Action” continues on Saturday mornings with host Kelly Frost and Bill Schappel. Friday’s ceremony will begin at 11AM.
