Men Found With Weapons & Drugs During Traffic Stop Sentenced To 6 Months In Jail

Two men have been sentenced for charges stemming from a traffic stop by Red Bluff Police earlier this year. Shortly after 11PM on January 3rd, a Dodge Charger with four occupants was pulled over for illegal window tint on Antelope Boulevard. The officer smelled Marijuana and recognized the front seat passenger, 20-year-old Santiago Carrillo. Knowing Carrillo often carried weapons, the officer told him to get out of the car. Carrillo was carrying a loaded Ruger 5.7 pistol in his waistband, and had a small baggie of Cocaine as well. A rear passenger, 18-year-old Luis Ray Maldonado, had a loaded Glock 40 in his bag that turned out to be stolen. A 17-year-old passenger was arrested for public intoxication and the 21-year-old female driver was cited for having no driver’s license. Both Carrillo and Maldonado have been sentenced to 6 months in county jail, 80 hours of community service and 2 years probation.
