Crews are mostly mopping up and patrolling for hot spots on most Northern California lightning fires. Most evacuations have been lifted or downgraded to warnings.
The 28,600 acre Happy Camp Complex is 57% contained, with 1200 personnel still on scene. Most of the smoke from the complex is from strategic firing operations on the west side of the 5,300 acre Ufish Fire. Firefighters have prevented the 12,200 acre Elliot Fire from spreading north toward Happy Camp or crossing to the east over Highway 96. 9 structures have been destroyed in the complex and 336 are still considered threatened. 20 people are still evacuated. There’s been one civilian fatality.
Nearly 2,600 personnel remain on the Smith River Complex near Crescent City. The complex has burned more than 85,500 acres with 19% overall containment.
The Deep Fire northwest of Trinity Lake is mostly inactive with 66% containment after burning 4,200 acres.
