Month Long Closure Of The Redding Regional Airport Begins This Week

Work is already underway at the Redding Regional Airport ahead of a major runway rehabilitation project set to begin this week that will close the airport to all commercial air traffic through October 20th. Although construction officially starts Tuesday, temporary changes to parking go into effect Monday. General public, rental car, and employee parking areas are being adjusted as crews prepare the site. A temporary vehicle relocation plan is already in place. Passengers using the alternate public parking lot Monday will be issued a parking ticket to pay upon return. Rental car services are also affected. Pick-ups and returns will be moved to the unpaved lot directly north of the current public parking area. Airport employees and tenants will now park on the south side of that temporary lot.
