During Tuesday’s Shasta County Supervisors meeting, nobody seemed to want to own the agenda item proposing a huge pay raise for the board, but there was considerable rancor and bickering. The board’s last raise was in 2002. Supervisor Tim Garmin made a motion to take a raise, but make it half of the proposed 65%. The motion was not seconded and the ordinance failed. Rickert suggested the raise be placed on a ballot for voters to decide.
