A 29-year-old Redding man was arrested over the weekend after apparently causing very significant damage to a Mount Shasta Mall café. Vitality Bowl occupies the southwest corner of the mall in the redesigned portion that had been Sears. At 12:49am Saturday, Redding Police were called after a Toyota Corolla that was being driven recklessly crashed through a glass wall on one side of Vitality Bowl, went all the way through and crashed out through another glass wall. The RPD determined that Visente Rivera was under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs. When he realized he was going to jail, Rivera reportedly became combative, kicking an officer and yelling obscenities.
