A police K9 in Mt. Shasta has been released from a care center in Southern Oregon and is home resting following emergency surgery for a condition known as Bloat which was discovered following National Night Out activities last week. Artie is still on medication and a special diet, but is said to be recovering well. He will have stitches removed next week. All money needed for treatment has been raised and an excess will be given to another K9 who needs the same type of surgery, but is not in an immediate danger.
