Murder Suspect Arrested In August Deemed Mentally Unfit To Stand Trial

A man accused in an East Redding murder has been ordered to undergo further psychological evaluation following a court appearance Monday. 34-year-old Robert Parker Milton was arrested August 29th after the shooting death of 71-year-old William Alan Dressler on Brent Road in the Wilshire Drive Neighborhood. Milton is charged with murder, battery with injury on a peace officer and other charges. He remains in custody without bail. A month ago his attorney raised doubt about his mental competency and the judge ordered a psychological assessment to be completed by two doctors. That report was delivered to the court Monday and the judge agreed that Milton is not mentally prepared to stand trial. Milton is the son of former Redding Mayor Missy McArthur.
