A group of residents living in the area of Board of Supervisors Chair Patrick Jones proposed shooting range have filed a lawsuit claiming the gun range would affect wildlife, and the EIR did not meet proper standards. The suit was filed last month in Shasta County Superior Court following the approval of the project by the Board of Supervisors in October. The suit is asking a judge to order a more extensive report be filed before the project can proceed. Jones wants to build the range on a 151 acre parcel off of Dersch Road, east of Anderson. Jones recused himself during the October vote.
