Non-Sworn Jail Employee Arrested For Having A Sexual Relationship With An Inmate

A sheriff’s department non-sworn employee who worked at the jail has been arrested for carrying on a sexual relationship with a jail inmate. The sheriff’s office learned of the affair on Saturday and investigated. Detectives say they obtained evidence that corroborated the relationship. On Monday an arrest warrant was obtained charging four felony counts of “detention facility staff engaging in sexual activity with a consenting adult confined in a detention facility”. No information about the employee or the inmate has been released by the sheriff’s office but there’s an in-custody listing on those charges for 60-year-old Sotero Navarro. Bail is set at $250,000.
