NPU Arrests Two On Drug Charges After Traffic Stop

Redding’s Neighborhood Police Unit says two people were trying to ditch drugs during a traffic stop on Wednesday. When officers initially tried to pull the car over near Canyon Drive and Redbank Road, the driver allegedly failed to yield and seemed to be trying to evade the police car. When they stopped, officers say they could see shards of Methamphetamine scattered around inside the car. As 26-year-old Mireya Duesler was being removed from the car, a significant amount of the drug reportedly fell from her and in various areas of her inner and outer clothing she had a total of 11 Ounces, according to police. A search of 43-year-old Timothy Yakaitis reportedly turned up individually packaged bags of Fentanyl and a lot of cash, with another 2 Ounces of Fentanyl found in the car.
