Thursday night a nurse was honored by the Shasta County Board of Supervisors for saving a woman’s life. Kandace Davy, who’s a Registered Nurse at Shasta Regional Medical Center, was at Hawes Farms in October with her children when a woman there experienced a heart attack. Recognizing the cardiac arrest, Kandace took charge of the situation and performed CPR on the woman for about 17 minutes until an ambulance arrived. As a result of the incident, Shasta Regional made a trip to Hawes to give the staff a lesson in CPR and the hospital donated an automatic external defibrillator kit.
