A union representing about 600 registered nurses and other health care workers at Shasta Regional Medical Center will hold an informational picket Tuesday morning at the hospital. The picket line will be in place from 6:30am to 9am. It won’t be a work stoppage. CNA/CHEU wants to inform the public of a staffing plan that they believe will jeopardize patient care. Prime Healthcare, the parent company for SRMC, apparently plans to double the load for RNs from five patients to ten on every floor except the ICU.
