Officers Capture Wanted Man After Foot Pursuit In Red Bluff

A wanted man on a bicycle led Red Bluff Police on a chase Tuesday afternoon that ended in a supermarket. 29-year-old Jonathan Ables of Corning was seen by an officer on Main Street. Knowing he had a felony warrant, the officer tried to stop Ables, who fled behind several businesses and over the railroad tracks to behind Raley’s. He then abandoned his bicycle and ran inside the grocery store. With officers chasing him on foot, Ables shoved his way through customers and ran to the rear of the store, knocking bottles of wine onto the floor behind him in an attempt to delay his pursuers. He was eventually caught in a rear storage area and booked into jail.
