Redding Police rescued a man on the bank of the Sacramento River Thursday morning. He was on the east side the river at the bottom of a high steep cliff near the South Bonnyview Boat Ramp. He said he had entered the river the night before near the Cypress Avenue Bridge and floated down that far before becoming stranded overnight. He was sent to a hospital for a precautionary exam.
